Job Class CLINICAL SUPPORT
FLSA Non-Exempt
Job Summary Collects specimens from patients and assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of patients, following established standards and practices. Accessions samples into computer system for accurate testing and billing. Performs Point of Care testing as needed.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Education High School diploma or equivalent - Vocational/specialized training of 3-12 months preferred
Minimum Experience No previous experience
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses NOT APPLICABLE
Specific Acceptable Credentials (if applicable) N/A
In lieu of the Above Minimum Requirements N/A
Other Required Experience Knowledge of general phlebotomy equipment - Required
Excellent human relations/interpersonal skills - Required
1-3 months OJT for phlebotomy required if applicant has no experience or certification. Competency must be demonstrated prior to collection of blood samples - Required
